Adapt, sruvive, thrive

Headline: Revenue: No question of returns going missing The Inland Revenue has assured tax advisers filing clients' returns over the internet that delays in recording receipt of returns on the SA system do not mean that any returns have been lost.
Description: More than a million self assessment tax returns were filed
electronically in 2003/04, according to the Revenue's annual
report, including almost 400,000 filed via the Electronic
Lodgement Service. The Revenue estimated that nearly 90% of SA
Online users were satisfied with the service.

However, practitioners filing large numbers of clients' returns
online will not wish to see a repeat of the problem revealed
last week, when TaxZone members were concerned that some returns
appeared to have gone missing. The Revenue assured us that no
returns would have been lost, but any delay in updating the SA
system for returns submitted is particularly unhelpful at this
time of the year. Only a small number of taxpayers and agents
were affected, the Revenue said.
