| Description: | A large study of stress levels in 24 occupations revealed that employees who have to hold their true feelings are most stressed.
Occupations that have a high degree of emotional labour , with face to face contact such us ambulance drivers, teachers, social workers, call centre staff, prison officers, clerical and administration officers and police are the most susceptible to high stress levels. The research also suggests that emotional factors are not the only ones causing stress. Jobs like nursing that have a high emotional content were not in the top seven. The research suggests that stress is caused by a combination of factors such as work overload and poor work-life balance |
