I was initially employed as an accounts assistant to the Finance Manager, and held responsibilities for a number of tasks:

• Petty Cash
• Cashbook
• Time Sheets and Expenses
• Nominal Ledger
• Other duties as and when required by the Finance Manager

Due to the departure of the Finance Manager, I was promoted on the 1st August 2004 to Acting Finance Manager and have taken over the responsibility of running the finance department at the Bedfordshire office. I report directly to the Financial Controller based at our Southampton office.

I am currently responsible for the following elements of the company accounts:

• Payroll
• Vat Returns

• Control and Management of Accounts Assistant functions

Chloride Continuous Power (CCP) is a Limited Company specialising in the sales and maintenance of power electronics systems more specifically uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). CCP also supplied and maintained the peripherals surrounding UPS systems such as batteries and distribution cabinets. The Bedfordshire branch employs approximately twenty five people and has a turnover of £2m p.a.


BARRON McCANN LTD 1990 – 30TH JUNE 2004


I was employed by the company as a Senior Credit Controller. I reported directly to the Company Accountant with regards to daily issues. I was held responsible for a range of tasks including:

• Cash collection up to litigation
• Documenting and applying cash received
• Account reconciliation and query resolution
• Maintaining receivable disputes and stop list
• Profit & Loss account preparation
• Balance Sheet preparation
• Cashflow forecast
• Fixed asset register
• Bank account reconciliations
• Sales Ledger month end reconciliation
• Debenture and bank reports

Barron McCann Ltd is a privately held Limited company specialising in the provision of a range of complex IT solutions to blue chip organizations. Formed in 1978 it currently employs in excess of three hundred people and has a turnover of approximately £18m p.a. whilst employed at Barron McCann I attended North Herts College in the evenings to gain my AAT qualification. The accounts department was relocated to Derby. Although I was offered a position I decided against taking it because of the distance and my wish to attain more experience with my AAT.


T ELMES & SONS LTD 1979 -1990


I was employed by this company as a Sales Ledger Clerk. The organisation was a family owned business dealing with all aspects of the building industry. The company employed approximately fifty people. My responsibilities included:

• Calculation of invoices and credit notes
• Sales ledger account processing
• Production of monthly statement
• Credit Control at a basic level

I enjoyed my time at the company but wished to broaden my experience and career opportunities and therefore decided to seek a more senior position elsewhere.


HOBBIES & INTERESTS


I attend a gymnasium two-three times a week. I enjoy dining out with friends, reading and visiting the theatre and cinema. I am also a member of the Northants Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club, which meets on a regular basis for social events and helps raise money for local charities. I enjoy interior design and successfully obtained an introduction to interior design City & Guilds certificate.

    H & H Associates will charge a fee of 25% of the canididates first year's remuneration, payable in two parts. Half, payable on start and the other half after the three month probationary period.

    Where the candidiate is on an H & H Associates trainee scheme and the Company only pays expenses to the trainee, then the fee will be based 20% based on the current market rate that will be agrred with the company. 

    Under the trainee scheme you will be disginated a member of staff with a relevant degree who will work with you for a minimum of six months on a 9.00am to 5.00pm basis, paying only his/her travel expenses.

    All we ask is that you complete his training record on a monthly basis. If at the end of the six month period the company decides to give the trainee a full time job then H & H Associates will charge 20% of the first year's remuneration.
