WORK EXPERIENCE 2004 to present Arab Cultural Community Charity (ACC, registered charity) Apart from performing the duties listed below from my previous employment with the ACC, I have taken on budgeting duties, including forecasting long-term trends, cost-benefit analysis, compiling financial reports and being involved in the financial analysis of the accounts and project evaluations. I have also done some tax work, which involved completing tax returns using PTP software and CGT computations using PPR relief. Christmas 2003 Lombard Direct Administrative work in a call-centre environment, a good telephone manner was required. Mostly conducting credit checks to determine loan suitability of clients, dealing with customer queries and being able to handle any complaints that arose. Summer 2003 The Alliance and Leicester Cashier position, involved the responsibility of handling cash reserves, dealing with monetary transactions, constant public interaction including sales knowledge. Also required the ability to act in a mature manner when faced with obstinate customers. 2002-2003 Arab Cultural Community Charity ( ACC, registered charity) Part-time Charity Work, included fund raising, helping with applications, clerical work, general activity organisation, advising and directing refugees, mostly Iraqi refugees and the North African Community in South London. This position also required speaking to various businesses in the area in order to persuade them to contribute to the charity. This role equipped me with the necessary skills to organise and to work within deadlines, whilst at the same time providing essential and quality services to London’s refugee community. 1999-2000 Imperial Cancer Research Temporary Administrative Assistant, worked involved using the Fax Machine, answering the telephone, running errands, sorting out post, word processing, filing and photocopying. Summer 1998 Camp America Camp Counsellor, involved being responsible for the overall activity programme and care of a small group of children. The role meant being in charge of the group twenty four hours a day, six days a week and involved organising them, taking them to meals and activities and motivating them. |
